On National Heroes Day, Filipinos across Canada and the world celebrate their independence and honour the memory of the heroes who fought so valiantly to obtain it.

Today, we celebrate Filipino national identity, independence, and the end of the Philippines’ long struggle under colonial rule.

We also celebrate the profound and positive impacts everyday Filipino heroes make in our communities every day in Canada and around the world.
